I want to let you know about the new format my newsletter will be taking on soon. I used to do a "5-Boomer Friday" on my podcast a while back (and I still might), so I decided to bring it to written form every other Friday to bring you as much value as possible. Here's how it will look. I will choose 5 things to discuss in each section.

1-A tip, game or strategy for teaching

2-A Book I'm reading or a quote I came across

3-A podcast or documentary I think is amazing

4-An awesome thing I've seen or heard or a current obsession of mine

5-A question to ponder or respond to

I'd love it if you came along with me for the ride!

1-Teaching Strategies

In this episode I describe my process in organizing large groups of students outside in the (usually) heat of Florida. I discuss signals, music, procedures, games and stations. Hopefully you'll find a few new ideas for your PE program.

2-Book I'm reading

After listening to the first book in the series "Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone" by Benjamin Stephenson, which is sort of a cheeky, humorous-at-times mystery, I'm reading (yes, an actual hardcover) the sequel, "Everyone on This Train is a Suspect". They are both entertaining and keep you on your toes!

3-Documentary to check out

I love the Tour de France! I used to watch it while Lance Armstrong was dominating in the late 90's and early 2000's until he admitted to cheating. I took over 10 years to get back into it and now I'm hooked yet again. The constant from Lance to now: Mark Cavendish. He's a sprinter that came back from injuries, doubters and suicidal thoughts to win his 35th stage this year-an all-time record!

4-Awesome thing I seen

I've always been a fan of Kobe Bryant and was devastated, like millions of people when he, his daughter and their friends tragically were killed in a helicopter crash. Here he is as a teenager at a slam-dunk competition. Enjoy!

5-Questions to ponder

I hope your summer is going well (if you're on break like me). I'd love to hear what your plans are for the next school year. I have 3 questions for you.
