Greetings PE Nation,

I hope you're doing fantastic at school. We made it through Halloween with a lot of excitement and fun, and now it's time to get our Turkey Trot on! Be sure to check out my new and older podcast episodes, including Music Montages, Team Building Activities, Attention Grabbing Signals, interviews and more!

Some of the things I share are PE related, and some are not, but they can be if you use your imagination and creativity. Or, if you need a break from all things education, here are a few gems.

1-Teaching Strategy

I know I've mentioned this before, but I love my music montages! It's a great way to get students up and dancing and exercising at the beginning of class. This video demonstrates how to make them, while my new podcast goes in depth as to where I first got the inspiration (hint: Disney), why I use them, and how you can get the most out of them. Check it out!

2-Book I'm reading

I'm big on self-help and productivity books. The one I just listened to was "At Your Best-How to Get Time, Energy, and Priorities Working in Your Favor", by Carey Nieuwhof. It's an easy listen and he discusses the various "zones" we are in everyday of our lives. Green is our most productive, yellow is neutral and red is our least productive. He shows how we can use them to our benefit. Give it a try!

3-Documentary to check out

One of my favorite comedies of all time is Mr.D on Amazon Prime. It stars a clueless, wannabe PE Teacher who's wildly inappropriate, and a teaching disaster! It's hysterical! Definitely a great watch!

4-Awesome thing I've seen or heard

You've probably heard this quote before by Teddy Roosevelt, but it's one of my favorites. It's the "Man in the Arena" quote that is inspiring and puts hard work into perspective:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
